Northwest Youth Racing Circuit (NWYRC)

The Northwest Youth Racing Circuit (NWYRC) is a racing series put on by local clubs and sailing centers. The NWYRC is dedicated to providing youth with the opportunity to compete against junior sailors from other local programs. Sailors ages 8-19 who live in Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia are encouraged to participate. There are typically seven regattas which make up the Summer Series. These regattas are designed to provide a positive regatta experience for novice-advanced racers. Friendly competition, camaraderie, and great hosts/venues make this series a good time for the whole family. Youth sailors participating in the Summer Series need to register with the NWYRC. It's a one time process and it's FREE!

COVID Impact Statement: We're all hoping for a gradual return to normalcy this summer, including the return of the NWYRC which was cancelled in 2020. The reality is there will likely be COVID-19 implications for the NWYRC. Hosts and series organizers will be working together to ensure that events are safe and comply with all relative guidance. Our return to play plan may modify aspects of the NWYRC from previous years. We are looking forward to seeing you all on the water again soon!

Qualifiers, Championships, and Other Popular Youth Events

Below are several regional and national level events that are historically popular with junior sailors from our region.  Although some of these events are in our own backyard, they are not part of the NWYRC. Some of these regattas require sailors to qualify, while other are open events. Traveling to new places and competing against sailors from other regions is a great way to elevate your game and make new friends!
